I’ve never liked that windows XP’s built in Network Time Protocol (ntp) client only updates every week. Quite honestly I don’t think it ever does.
Anyway, the one computer that I still run windows on needs to update more often to my time server. As much as I change the “token” Microsoft box in my house, I get annoyed going in everytime to update the registry to my preferred settings.
So I created a quick registry patch file that changes the default Internet Time update schedule from weekly to daily. It can be easily modified to update more often as your mood suits.
