The Site, coming articles, happy bday

I’ve been working on the backend of this site for the past several weeks. Long time readers will have noticed some improvement in the response of the server as well as some changes on the feeds and such. Over this time period I have been trying to figure out how to join the Bl*g style content from all of my sites into this one site. I’ve been breaking things off from my original site for so long, I don’t have time to keep up with them all. Heck, if you’ve been to my original site in the recent months you’ve noticed it doesn’t have anything there and it’s being updated. I’ve got all these domain names that at one point were populated and I still want to do stuff with them, but at the same time I don’t have time to properly feed all the sites. Basically it was turning into each bl*g topic was it’s own domain. From now on all such content will be here. If you only want one topic, bookmark it or add it to your feed reader.

Here is a quick run down on the most popular sites;

Zebthepilot.com is about to undergo a redesign and the Boise ATC LIVE feed hosted there will be moving out of “testing.” ha, been there so long you’d think this was a debian release.”

HZnet.us will go back to being about my open source/linux consulting work.

HangarZ.com for the time being won’t have anything on it. I’m still trying to decide what to do with the web for this domain. All the back end services will remain unchanged. All HangarZ.com accounts will remain active.

IdahoHamRadio.net Will move to being the homepage for the Idaho Hams Yahoo Group. I won’t maintain any site there, just the Yahoo page… well, maybe I’ll put up a static page

TechConsultants.org I don’t know what I’m going to do with this one now. Ideas?

Some of my changes to the site are having a temporary effect traffic due to changes with structure, links and mostly a change in SEO. This week has been the harshest of the past two but as of today I’m starting to see an upswing in analytics and my SEO changes taking effect in the search engine results. Google is really the only search engine that has had a traffic dropoff, but 90% of my traffic comes from google so it hurts. All other engines as well as my feed stats have remained the same or increased in the last month.

I usually don’t mention stuff that’s coming on any of my sites but I do have a few things interesting topics planned in the next couple of months. I’m going to do a series on linux distros a series on Ham Radio and well…. we’ll see what else. Oh, Joy has challenged me to write a series of non-related and perfectly random short stories. we’ll see.

We’re going out tonight to celebrate Joy’s birthday, so I must go.
